Artist’s Impression

The ‘artist’s impression’ on hoardings around building sites for proposed developments often display an idealistic, newly planted, rural cycling fantasy with few cars. Southwark History Library’s 70s and 80s photographs of Peckham interestingly convey a model village; reminiscent of “artists impressions”.
These images are contrasted with the starting point for this show, Fran Cottell’s impression: of the streets around the m2 Gallery and the dominance of cars, bins and mature trees.
